Should you wait to start keto until the time is right? With birthdays, holidays, vacations and more when is the right time to start keto?

These questions pop up in my Facebook group quite often.

Let’s cut right to the chase. There is never a perfect time to start anything. There is always going to be a reason “not to” or a celebration of some kind coming up on the calendar. You just have to wrap your mind around your goals and why you are wanting to live the keto life. It is all in your mindset.

Let me say this again. There will never be a perfect time.

Life events happen. If you choose to celebrate with food that is off plan, it messes with your new lifestyle. But it may also sabotage you to the point you don’t get back to the program. All said and done, it’s just food. If you trip up, don’t beat yourself up. Get back in the swing of things right away. Don’t wait and tell yourself now that you ate THAT, I may as well continue and have this, this, this and this….it never ends.

Getting Started Is Easier Than You Think

You should start as soon as you make the decision.

If you know holidays, birthdays or other special events are coming up plan ahead. Find recipes for your favorite celebratory foods that are keto versions.  There is almost nothing you could want when it comes to food that cannot be made to fit your lifestyle. You can even grab a holiday cookbook to help you if an internet search is too overwhelming.

For the day to day life you can grab a meal plan and have your week planned out for you.  Prep your meals and take them along for lunches that week. 

Finally, whatever you do, do not wait for the perfect moment. Take the moment and make it perfect!
